Borders® Celebrates the Grand Opening of its New Denver Store at the Northfield Lifestyle Center Nov. 17 Through Nov. 19
Denver, Nov. 3, 2006 - Borders will celebrate the grand opening of its 21,500-square-foot store in Denver -- located in the Northfield Stapleton shopping center, at the junction of U.S. Interstates 70 and 270 at Quebec Street -- beginning Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19. Throughout the weekend, special activities are planned including author autographing sessions, children’s events, live music and a Seattle’s Best Coffee® First Pour ceremony. During the celebration, Borders will give away prizes including two $250 Borders gift cards,
a Sony® Sport MP3 Player and a set of Borders Classics books.

Enter to win one of two $250 Borders gift cards. Winner will be drawn at the end of the weekend.

Friday, Nov. 17:
4 to 5 p.m. - Meet cast members from "Hats! A New Musical" as they perform songs from the show, greet the public, and sign autographs.
5:30 to 7 p.m. - Attend a performance by the Cottonwood Club, an acoustic quartet performing vintage jazz in the spirit of great artists from the 30’s and 40’s.
7 p.m. - Enter the Universal Trivia contest to win CDs and DVDs from Universal Music Group® and a Sony DVD player.
8 p.m. - Attend a performance by Perpetual Motion, a dynamic instrumental group whose music ranges from bluegrass to swing, from jazz to rock.
Saturday, Nov. 18:
10 a.m. - Join us for a Nickelodeon story time. Fun-filled activities will be available throughout the day.
Noon - Join us for a special signing with John Fielder, Colorado’s premier landscape photographer. John will be sign his first children’s book, “Do You See What I See?”
2 p.m.- Sample fresh brewed smooth coffee at the Seattle’s Best Coffee® First Pour ceremony, accompanied by the music of Swingtime.
3 p.m. - Denver Public School students participate in a Poetry Slam, featuring their original works of poetry and prose, all written during their participation in the Denver SCORES after-school program.
4 p.m. - Attend an autographing with Pulitzer Prize winning writer J. R. Moehringer, who will sign copies of his best-selling memoir, "The Tender Bar."
5 p.m. - Enjoy a performance by acclaimed neo-classical pianist Alex Grant.
Sunday, Nov. 19:
All day - Enter to win a Borders gift basket, filled with samples of items Borders has to offer, including books, music, movies, stationery and cafe items. Winner will be drawn at the end of the day.
Noon - Attend a local author showcase and meet local author Grant Collier, Ben Fogelberg, Steve Grinstead, Carol Ann Kates, EllynAnne Geisel, and Lisa Gardiner.
2 p.m. - Meet popular local romance authors Lizzie T. Leaf, Robin Owens, Kally Jo Surbeck, and Cindi Myers, who will sign copies of their latest books.
5 p.m. - At this Borders-exclusive event, meet Jock Bartley (Firefall) and several other Colorado-based artists, who contributed artwork to the beautiful new book, “Beatles Art.” The featured artists will display their original Beatles-related artwork as they greet readers and sign copies of this new book.
6 p.m. - Rock guitar legend Jock Bartley performs Beatles songs and music from his new, solo CD “Blindside.”
Throughout the grand opening weekend, customers will also experience some of what the new Borders store will offer Denver all year-round-a Seattle’s Best Coffee® cafe and Paperchase® gifts and stationery shop, as well as educational discounts, diverse events, great title selection, special features and a wonderful place to simply gather and explore.
